We’ve got 21st century technology, speed & norms colliding head-on with 20th and 19th century institutions, rules and cultures”. Amory Lovins.

Which team is most likely to innovate?

Let’s talk about innovation through organizational network analysis (#ONA).

I took this study excerpt that we applied to an organization using the the following marked team members. As you can see, they are not deeply interconnected; team even has low density. This suggests that they will have different perspectives and more value added productive discussions. However marked team members have a high level of “in-degree” connections within their teams, thus will help them lever acceptance of innovative ideas/projects within their network of influence.

ONA promoting innovation

Yesterday I watched a webinar by Mr. Michael Arena, VP Talent & Development at Amazon Web Services (AWS), talking about #AdaptiveSpace where the Operational System and Entrepreneurial Pockets (innovation) in an organization meet and I found enriching this phrase: “We’ve got 21st century technology, speed & norms colliding head-on with 20th and 19th century institutions, rules and cultures “. Amory Lovins.

Anything else you can identify in this graph? Should we include employee “E” in the innovation space?
